Smoking

Ben Affleck tells Oprah: "I finally decided to quit smoking when I found out I was going to have a child. That was the thing that sort of put it over the top for me. I decided to go to a hypnotist. You sit in a chair and the hypnotist sips water and just talks to you for an hour, and explains how nicotine is poison."
"All of a sudden, I thought, 'This is asinine that I've been doing this to myself for all these years.' My last cigarette was on November 10th, 2005, and I feel a huge difference in my health now that I don't smoke. I feel like I'm in better shape than I was five years ago."

Smoking

According to Health Canada, lung cancer is leading cause of death due to Cancer in Canada, and quitting smoking is the single most important preventable thing you can do to change this.
Quit, not just for yourself:
According to Health Canada, only one third of the tobacco smoke is inhaled by the smoker and the remainder is found in the air surrounding him or her. There are different ways of being exposed to the chemicals from tobacco smoke.
There are different ways of being exposed to the chemicals from tobacco smoke.
Mainstream smoke: directly inhaled by the smoker. Second-hand smoke: a mixture of the smoke exhaled from a smoker and the smoke released from the end of a burning cigarette. Second-hand smoke can be inhaled not only by the smoker but by those surrounding you, such as your family and friends. When smoke is inhaled, it initially passes by the mouth. Then, it is absorbed through the lungs. Once absorbed through the lungs, the toxic chemicals are transferred to the bloodstream. Then, they are distributed throughout the entire body by the heart's pumping action, ensuring that those 4,000 chemicals reach ever every single part of your entire body.
How do the sessions work:
The first half of the session is spent
  1. Exploring your smoking habit.
  2. Understanding the psychology of smoking as it relates to you
  3. Teaching you effective psychological techniques to control cravings and alter the way you feel. The second half of the session involves hypnosis tailored specifically for you, which is recorded onto CD for you play at home to reinforce the work carried out during the session.
  • Increase your motivation to become smoke free.
  • Release your old habits.
  • Re-write your associations with smoking.
  • Reduce (or even eliminate) withdrawal symptoms such as cravings, irritability and overeating.
